Name: Cutter or Badjah Age: 37 Location: Cary, NC Sex: M Hey folks. I've been in the area for a few months now, trying to settle in, and I thought I'd step in and introduce myself. My RL name's Matt, but most folks in fandom know me as Cutter or Badjah, (sometimes El Badjah or Da Badjah depending on the bloat in the name database). I've been in the fandom for over 15 years now. I've published and distributed comics, organized a con in Orlando, and staff at a few cons (FWA, MFM). I keep a FA page up, but I've not had a lot of time to work on art lately. I'm working on relaunching my old pulp comic ( Milikardo Knights), and I'm also working on a new webcomic project. I'm living in Cary these days--moved up from Orlando in August. I'd like to try and organize a periodic meetup in the area and try to do some community building. Trying to meet a few furs in the area to hang out with. Looking forward to meeting people in the area! Badjah

hey everyone, i thought i would post my thanks to you all now that i can get onlineat my bosses. All the cats but my beloved penny and apollo got out. Penny was in my room, which is where the fire starter, so we dont hold out much hope that she made it out when mat kicked down the door, which is what flashed the fire in my room. my TV, it turns out, was more then likely the cause. Apollo MAY have gotten out, and i may call on some of you to help me mount a search for her at some point. Patch, Gemma and Kiki had to go to the vets, gemma and kiki for smoke inhalation, but patches got badly burned, and he breathed flame into his lungs, and had his eyeballs burned. However, he is doing fantastic and may come home as early as tonight. Sadly, i dont know where we are going to put him! dad has three with him, i have two in my hotel room, mat has two in his...but when i know what we need, i will let everyone know. I love you all, and i cannot wait to see all of you soon.
December 21st, 2009littlegraytiger, posting in carolina_furs @ 08:47 pm: A Desperate Plea
I have a desperate plea here for furs in the Carolinas, but if anyone in the Athens or Atlanta area hears me, I think I can drive that far too. There is a little 30 pound, unspayed female Jack Russel Terrier/Beagle mix at my home. We found her on 11/28/2009 and have tried desperately to locate her owners. We've placed newspaper ads, put up Found Dog signs in the local neighborhoods, she's on Fido Finder, asked at local vet offices, she had a card at Petsmart for a time, and she's also listed as 'Found' on the Gaston County Animal Control website. At this late date, I believe she has been dumped. This wonderful little dog is largely housebroken(If she's desperate to pee she may wet a little in her initial excitement to go out), kennel trained, understands sit/lay down/wait and walks well, and loves to cuddle on furniture. She understands everything about being someone's well loved pet, but I cannot find her old home. I cannot keep this dog. I can't. I have two dogs of my own, two cats of my own, and three reptiles. However, our county's animal shelter is well known for it's extremely high kill rate. Dogs -with tags- are held for only 72 hours before they are slated for death. Our county also kills dogs and cats in large groups through the use of a carbon monoxide gas chamber, which causes them to choke, vomit, and finally suffocate. Charlotte Humane Society can't take her until six months or more from now. I'm still attempting to contact the Rock Hill humane society. I've prepped this dog as well as I can afford to for a better life. She has had her one year rabies tag and shot, parvo vaccine, distemper vaccine, bordetella vaccine, and canine influenza vaccine. She is also heartworm negative. She IS unspayed. She needs to go to a home that either keeps her indoors or if outdoors has a fence she can't dig under or jump over. I am willing to buy her a starter bag of dog food and send her with my standard poodle's kennel and the mystery dog's collar, chain choke, and a leash. I am also willing to drive, if you are AT ALL interested, PLEASE email me at LittleGrayTiger AT gmail DOT com. You can also send me a message here on Livejournal, notes on FurAffinity(LittleGrayTiger), or notes on DeviantART(LittleGrayTiger). If this situation drags on too long, I'm very afraid that I will have to take her into the vet and be put down by lethal injection. No dog deserves to be put down because there isn't a home, but I can't sacrifice my animals either. I'd also rather her be put down with me there in a gentle way than be abandoned in one of the worst animal shelters in NC to die frightened and alone. Any questions, please ask. If you have any help(Such as knowing about open/accepting no kill shelters) within NC, SC, or GA -please- let me know. Thank you very much. I know furries tend to have good hearts and a love of animals above and beyond the average person, I'm really hoping I can find help here. Here are some photos, click them to see them bigger!

December 18th, 2009foxish, posting in anthrocon @ 04:55 pm: Dealers: Postal Snafus And You
Hidely ho, all y'alls! You may have noticed over the past few days that getting your application to our processing staff has been, well, a little difficult. Without going into the fine detail of the matter, the US Postal Service chose to close the PO Box that's used for applications without giving any kind of notice. You may have even received an alternate address to send to during the duration of the problem, or your application may have been returned to you with an "Unable to Deliver" notice. I'm happy to say that the matter has been dealt with, and the address posted on the Dealers Application and in the packet will now be accepting mail right away. If you've had your application returned, simply resend it with the original envelope included and we'll honour the first postmark without delay. If you've mailed your application to the alternate address, no worries, we're getting those on schedule. If you've an concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to get in contact with staff via email and we'll fire back to you as soon as we can. (This Livejournal is -not- a recommended way to contact the staff, particularly if the matter is urgent.) Make sure when you communicate that you use the dealers-2010 address and not 2009--mail delivered to the latter may not be properly received. Thanks again, and have a great day, night, morning and holiday!

As most of you know I took a monster wedgie for chairity well this year I have two things planed. First the waist band off the shorts will be sold at auction and second, I will be "Hanging around" like last year you pay to save me or pay to watch me suffer. The kicker is this year if I suffer it's up to you all to save me, That's right you have to pay to end my pain and stop the blood letting. Now I still won't say just what I am doing but you can bet it will hurt like hell and make you cringe, And remember it's for a good cause. Current Mood: sore Current Music: Boondox 7

I have confirmed the very sad news that Anthrocon staff member Wade "Darkwolfie" Dooley passed away peacefully this morning after a long hospitalization following a diagnosis of H1N1 influenza. I spoke with his wife, who asked me to pass along a very brief message: "Just let the Fandom know that he loved them."
tailin, posting in anthrocon @ 11:37 am: Future AC Guest idea?
Last night in Sigourney Weaver's interview with Jon Stewart she said, "You offer me ears and a tail, and I'll go anywhere for you." Of course she was referring to the upcoming Avatar movie but sounds like the offer should be extended for a future convention!
